Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design for building services projects, including HV/LV power distribution, lighting, lightning protection, earthing, standby power (generators/UPS), and extra-low voltage (ELV) systems coordination.
• Prepare and review electrical design calculations, single-line diagrams, cable sizing, load schedules, and specifications in accordance with SS 638 (CP5), IEC standards, and relevant Singapore Codes of Practice.
• Develop tender documentation, technical specifications, and bill of quantities (BQ) for electrical systems.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architects, other M&E disciplines (mechanical, ACMV, fire protection), and structural engineers to ensure integrated, clash-free building services design.
• Liaise with statutory authorities (e.g., SP Group, BCA, SCDF) for submissions, approvals, and compliance.
• Review and approve shop drawings, technical submissions, and design changes from contractors and vendors.
• Conduct site inspections, technical audits, and commissioning reviews to verify design intent is met during construction.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and quality review for junior and intermediate design engineers.
• Support project managers with technical input for scheduling, cost estimation, and value engineering.
• Ensure all designs comply with safety, sustainability (e.g., Green Mark), and quality standards.
• Keep up to date with emerging electrical technologies, energy efficiency practices, and regulatory changes affecting building services design.

Requirements

Education & Certification

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore preferred, or actively working towards it.

Experience

• Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in electrical building services design, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead design capacity.
• Proven track record delivering electrical design for commercial, residential, institutional, or infrastructure projects in Singapore.
• Experience working with consultants, contractors, and statutory authorities in a design/consulting environment.
